Port of Melbourne Boat Tours

Port of Melbourne tours are fun, family-friendly events and the best way to see Australia’s busiest port, right on the city’s doorstep. Featuring guided commentary from port staff, you’ll see the port from a whole new angle. Port of Melbourne is Australia’s largest container and general cargo port and a vital trade gateway – whether sending Australian grain to Guangzhou or bringing us coffee from Colombia. Port of Melbourne charges a modest ticket fee that is donated to Mission to Seafarers Victoria and Stella Maris Seafarer Centre who support the thousands of seafarers who spend months at sea bringing goods to us every day of the year.

  • Tours run 10am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm across four dates: 22 April, 7, 27 and 28 May (please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to tour time and bring an electronic or paper copy of your ticket).
  • Running for approximately 90 minutes in groups of up to 180 people. Duration is subject to weather conditions and making way for commercial vessels if required. Allow up to 30 minutes for boarding and disembarking.
  • Bookings required.
  • No food or drink is allowed on the boat (water bottles permitted).
  • Please contact the Port of Melbourne to discuss accessibility requirements.
  • Ticket proceeds will be donated to Mission to Seafarers and Stella Maris.
