Melbourne’s tall ship Enterprize is a replica of the topsail schooner that brought the first European settlers from Tasmania to found the city of Melbourne in 1835.
The building of the replica commenced in 1991 and was completed over the next six years until it was launched on August 30th 1997 right here at Seaworks. Now in 2026, the Enterprize returns to her old home of Shed 9.
The replica Enterprize is sailed & maintained by volunteer crew from all walks of life. From one-hour sails in the bay, education & youth development programs, and multi-day offshore voyages, the Enterprize continues to provide the general public with the opportunity to experience life on board a 19th century sailing ship.
